Stories Worth Telling

Pius Remet (known by his pseudonym Amminisisi which he uses to sign his work), is a Nigerian environmentalist, painter and designer whose work uniquely explores the cultural elements of society.
Stories Worth Telling, Pius’s first online solo exhibition,  presented by  Ogirikan art gallery in Lagos, Nigeria, exclusively on Artsy. Remet’s work is deeply rooted in his experiences as a boy and young adult living in his village located in Nigeria’s Niger Delta.

His work generally speaks to the beauty of traditional African cultures such as masks and masquerades, the colour and excitement of traditional African festivals, the celebratory essences surrounding womanhood, and the thrill of childhood dreams.
