Solo Show: By Akinbanji Osanyemi
Peace be unto you
Is Akinbanji Osanyemi’s solo exposition, The word is a subtle yet thought provoking proclamation that cuts across humanity with its root stemming into religious constructs. As spiritual as the word may connote, its depth is in the crevices of ones state of being as examined in this body of works. The idea of peace can never be found without but only a reflection of what we feel within the inner recesses of our soul, clearly a reflection on inner reconciliation with our spiritual energy.
In a world increasingly fraught with chaos and fragmentations, Akinbaji weaves these masterly pieces creating tensions ,releases with tactile surfaces that flicker between fleeting ideals for us to witness held moments that are personal, unresolved and deeply felt.
Not a depiction of the dictionary definition of peace as stillness but as an active state of being.
